Who is Satoshi Nakamoto?

Satoshi Nakamoto is the pseudonym used by the creator of Bitcoin.

(Think Spiderman to Peter Parker)

Except nobody knows for sure who the person is behind the Satoshi mask.

It could be a group of people.

We do know for sure it is not Craig Wright after recent legal ruling (if you were on the fence about that)

The first notable mention of Satoshi was when the whitepaper, "Bitcoin: A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System' was published to a cryptography mailing list on October 31, 2008. (The midst of the Global Financial Crisis)

Satoshi's last email was sent to a Bitcoin developer on April 23, 2011, quote "

I've moved on to other things.  It's in good hands

"

There is plenty of speculation on why Satoshi decided to remain anonymous.

Maybe it was to add to the decentralized motto of Bitcoin.

There is no CEO or central authority. Satoshi can't come back and change Bitcoin because the Bitcoin software is a distributed protocol maintained by the people, for the people.

Bitcoin is freedom money.
